The Osun State Police Command Have Arrested a Fake Doctor, 30-year-old Rafiu Naheem
A statement from the command's spokesperson, Adekunle Ajisebutu, discloses that Naheem had been operating an unregistered clinic in a one-bedroom mud apartment in Inisa, Odo Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, treating unsuspecting patients of different ailments until recently when he was apprehended.
Ajisebutu stated that Intelligence at the command's disposal had it that the suspect had been placing patients on admission, and had been procuring abortions and handling very complex medical conditions he lacked professional expertise on, thereby endangering the lives of residents in the area who patronise him.
"The suspect, a school certificate holder, who could barely speak good English, and without a formal training, had been operating an unregistered clinic in a one-bedroom mud apartment, treating unsuspecting patients of different ailments.When a search was conducted in his illegal 'clinic' located in a filthy environment at Inisa area, Odo Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, the following items were recovered: stethoscope, sphygmomanometer (blood pressure gauge), drips, injection and syringes, circumcision set, HCG Pregnancy Rapid Test (urine) Accurate, scalpel and other theater instruments, thermometer, analgesic and assorted drugs.While appreciating our strategic partners, who gave the hint that led to the arrest of the suspect, the AIG Zone XI, Adeleye Oyebade, mni, urged members of the public to be wary of quacks masquerading as medical doctors, to save themselves from avoidable death. The AIG has consequently directed that the suspect should be arraigned in court immediately without delay", the statement read
