 Complains have been made several times by Corp members serving in Nsukka region of enugu state about the activities of a notorious area boy (agbero). It was gathered that the said agbero specializes in victimization of Corp members especially those who are mobile. He uses harassment and intimation to rob his victims. On 19 of November 2019 a core member was approaching a microfinance bank when the agbero came with three others, they rob and took away the motorcycle (ladies machine) from the serving core member. An eye witness at the incident manage to take pictures of the main agbero who boasted that he is "being backed by the governor" he also claims to have a valid ID card that justifies what he is doing. Immediate-past Minister of State, for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, has warned against the continuous usage of Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, over the deplorable state of the runway. Sirika served between November 2016 and May 2019 as Minister in charge of Aviation. He was re-nominated on Tuesday by President Muhammadu Buhari. He was screened today by the Senate. Minority Leader of the Senate, Enyinnaya Abaribe, had while speaking on the floor of the Senate, urged Sirika to fix Akanu Ibiam Airport if he’s reassigned to the Aviation sector. Addressing Senate correspondents after his screening, he said the runaway needed immediate attention and should be closed down without delay.
