2019: Shehu Sani Urges Nigerians To Vote Out PDP And APC

The Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly has urged Nigerians to ensure that the former ruling party, the PDP and current ruling party, the APC do not return to power in 2019. Sani, who until is recent defection was a member of the APC, is now the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party. He had decamped at the last minute after he lost the APC ticket to an aide of Gov.Elrufai. In a tweet on Thursday, the embattled Senator wrote: "Let not power go back to those who destroyed your country nor to those who are destroying it". It is unclear if nigerians will yield to his advise and vote out both APC and PDP in 2019. Only time shall tell. Source: Suanu's Blog

The Presidency has issued a statement rejecting former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan’s claim that there is more corruption in the country compared to when he left office.

The statement said President Buhari in pursuit of the war against corruption, has set a number of local and international records, one of which is to call judicial officers in Nigeria to account. He is the first to set such a record. Not only that, this is the first time that top military commanders and Service Chiefs are brought to trial and convictions were achieved on account of corruption. Two members of the House of Representatives officially announced their departure from the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaker of the House of Reprsentatives, Yakubu Dogara, read letters from Ahmed Abu (Niger State) and Stephen Olemija (Ondo State) announcing their decison to defect from APC to the Social Democratic Party and the Action Alliance, respectively. The lawmakers attributed their defection to the conduct and outcome of the APC primaries in their respective states.

Dele Momodu Reveals Saraki To Run For President

Founder of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu has disclosed that Senate President Bukola Saraki will join the 2019 presidential race. The media mogul, in a statement on his ‘Boss Newspaper,’ stated that Saraki is contemplating fielding Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu as his running mate.
