The Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly has urged Nigerians to ensure that the former ruling party, the PDP and current ruling party, the APC do not return to power in 2019. Sani, who until is recent defection was a member of the APC, is now the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party. He had decamped at the last minute after he lost the APC ticket to an aide of Gov.Elrufai. In a tweet on Thursday, the embattled Senator wrote: "Let not power go back to those who destroyed your country nor to those who are destroying it". Chairman of the debate group and owner of Channels TV, John Momoh, disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja today November 22nd. He added that the debates will hold at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja and will be broadcast live by all BON members. According to the timetable released by the group, the vice presidential candidates are billed to have their debate on December 14th 2018. President Buhari will be debating alongside the likes of Oby Ezekwesili, Atiku Abubakar, Donald Duke and others.

Founder of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu has disclosed that Senate President Bukola Saraki will join the 2019 presidential race. The media mogul, in a statement on his ‘Boss Newspaper,’ stated that Saraki is contemplating fielding Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu as his running mate. Atiku declared his intentions when he paid a visit to the PDP in Rivers state today March 27th. During the visit, Atiku said his decision to make the announcement in Rivers State is because he believes Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike represents what he represented in 1998/99 as the live wire of the PDP. The former Vice President said that he is offering himself to set the country on the path of growth after the serial failure of the APC. According to Atiku, since assuming office in 2015, the APC Federal Government has destroyed the education, health and infrastructural sectors through poor budgetary allocations and releases.
