Agbero (aka area boy) who specializes in robbery of Corp members in Nsukka claims to be backed by the governor of the state.
It was gathered that the said agbero specializes in victimization of Corp members especially those who are mobile. He uses harassment and intimation to rob his victims.
On 19 of November 2019 a core member was approaching a microfinance bank when the agbero came with three others, they rob and took away the motorcycle (ladies machine) from the serving core member.
An eye witness at the incident manage to take pictures of the main agbero who boasted that he is "being backed by the governor" he also claims to have a valid ID card that justifies what he is doing.
When asked why he targets Corp members he responded by saying that "they are even lucky sef, ask them how they treat our people over there"
As people started gathering around to know what was happening, not knowing his pictures were taken already, he threatened to smash any smart phone from anyone who dare to video the incident.
This agbero is still operating as we speak. Therefore every Corp member serving in Nsukka region should be very careful because they prey on Corp members lack of knowledge of the town to extort, rob or in some cases with female Corp members even rape.
Also, the attention of the various security agencies is hereby requested urgently to this situation.
