Nine journalists from Tanzania suspended over fake Trump news

A popular Tanzanian television station has suspended one of its top presenters alongside eight others, for disseminating fake news in which US President Donald Trump praised Tanzanian president John Magufuli. In the fake article which was published last week, it reported that Trump hailed Magufuli for his fight against corruption, presenting him as 'an African hero' and an example to other regional leaders accused of 'doing nothing'. In a statement released by the head of the channel, Ayub Rioba Chacha, he said TBC1 regret 'a lack of professionalism which led to the dissemination of false information.' The nine employees involved, including celebrated reporter/presenter Gabriel Zacharia, would have avoided the problem if they had stuck to the editorial rules, he added

Victim of London attack, Kurt Cochran was actually in UK to celebrate 25th wedding anniversary with his wife

A victim in the Westminster Bridge attack has been named as Kurt Cochran, an American tourist who was on vacation in London with his wife to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. According to a statement released by the LDS Church, Cochran and his wife Melissa who suffered serious injuries were on the final day of a European trip. They had been due to fly home to Utah on Thursday. Clint Payne, Cochran's brother-in-law in a statement says: "Our family is heartbroken to learn of the death of our brother and son-in-law, Kurt W. Cochran, who was a victim of Wednesday's terrorist attack in London. Kurt was a good man and a loving husband to our sister and daughter, Melissa. We express our gratitude to the emergency and medical personnel who have cared for them and ask for your prayers on behalf of Melissa and our family. Footage of a police officer using excessive force on a suspect and swearing at witnesses who accused him of police brutality has emerged and people are criticizing the police officer, saying he went too far. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon at a gas station in Vallejo, California when the officer responded to a 911 call that there was a man acting crazy around there. The officer arrived the scene and chased the unarmed suspect for several minutes, before the suspect gave up and sat on the floor, in the middle of the road. The policeman proceeded to push the unarmed man to the ground then punched him repeatedly as he tried to arrest him, while the suspect kept repeating loudly "I am God, I am God". US Press Secretary, Sean Spicer, was harassed by an Indian-American woman, Shree Chauhan as he shopped in an Apple store on Saturday. The 33-year-old woman, who lives in Washington DC and works for a non-profit organization, walked up to Spicer and began asking him how it feels to work with a fascist, referring to Trump. Spicer replied her, saying, "We have a great country" and continued shopping, but Shree was not giving up and she shot back at him: "We have a great country? Have you helped  with the Russia stuff? Are you a criminal as well? Have you committed treason too? Just like the president. Have you committed treason too? What can you tell me about Russia?" Spicer answered with a smile, "It's such a great country that allows you to be here," before he walked out of the store.
