The Nigerian Labour union has said it will not back down on its threat to embark on a nationwide protest over the National minimum wage. The leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Trader Union Congress and the United Labour Congress with their members marched from their NLC office at DLine to the Rivers state Government House to register their protest. Speaking at the gate of the government in Port Harcourt, National Vice President of the United Labour Congress, Igwe Achese said they were at the government House to pass their protest message to Governor Nyesom Wike. “The only thing that can abort this strike is if they agree to our terms. Until that is done, there is no going back. Our message is for Nigerians to begin to stockpile their homes with foodstuff because this strike, when it begins, it will not end until the Government meet our demands,” Achese said. A freshman at the Afe Babalola University in Ado-Ekiti, engaged one of his lecturers in a fight after he attempted to seize his phone during class. According to the students, they were having an engineering course, AFE 101, when the lecturer found out the freshman had his phone with him. He asked for it and when the student did not hand it over, he decided to forcefully take it from him. They struggled for the phone and in the process, exchanged some punches. The embattled leader of the  Indigenous People of Biafra ,   Nnamdi Kanu , may have  been stranded in Israel, following his failure to use the travel document that would have enabled him to move to the United Kingdom. It was learnt that the Biafran leader failed to utilise the Emergency Travel Document provided for him by the British authorities until the document expired. The UK High Commission in Abuja on Saturday told Punch, on inquiries over role in Kanu’s escape to Jerusalem. The UK High Commission Senior Communications Officer, Tinu Adelegan,  “I’m afraid there’s very little we can say about this for consular confidentiality. All we have done is provided an ETD to a British person who asked for one in Israel, which he has not used and has now expired.” It could not be ascertained why Kanu, a British citizen, needed an ETD to travel to the UK. Ayilara who was once a student of Redeemed Bible College (RCBC), an RCCG Pastor School, had written an article in September in which he accused the church's authority of maltreating him while he was in the school. Ayilara said he was questioning some of the things the church was teaching him and many others in the school.When he questioned the church, he was tagged rebellious.
